lions and tigers

Now that it's getting hot, I have no patience for outfits that require lots of effort. I don't want to get sweaty while I'm getting dressed, so I keep it as simple as possible.

This weekend, it was super warm in Manhattan while I was spending time with Christin, so I threw on my new favorite Madewell dress. Why is it my new favorite? Because it's covered with animals! So. Many. Animals. Christin was kind enough to snap some shots of me and my animal dress while we took a quick stroll through Central Park.

And by that I mean we went to Central Park to take these photos. #priorities

weekending

//here
After what felt like the longest week ever, I'm super excited to finally finally be getting to my weekend. Craig and I are off to NYC for the weekend where he's going to do some boy things (like watch baseball), and I'm going to hang out with my main girl Christin and basically annoy everyone in the city. I couldn't be happier to go relax and spend time with her.

So I hope you all have a lovely weekend full of laughter + love.

hair things

I haven't talked a whole lot about getting married. I'm going to be honest with you all, this is something I will be intensely private about. Our wedding will be small (very small, by some standards), and very us. And as much as I love sharing a lot of things about my life and my city, this is something that I'd like to keep personal. Once it's come, I most certainly intend on sharing some photos from the Big Day and I'll share some generic ideas, but I hope you all understand my wanting to keep the details off of the internet.

With all of that aside, I've been seriously lusting after beautiful, soft, romantic hair styles for the Big Day and just had to share some of the gorgeous looks I'm thinking of. It's totally likely I might change my mind over the next few months, but still. These looks man.

things to do in boston: h. bloom

Bostonians, rejoice! Flower delivery has been made easy thanks to the amazing team at H. Bloom. The flower delivery system launches in Boston, Cambridge and Brookline today!
hbloom
What makes H. Bloom different than other flower delivery services? According to the company, most florists have to throw away 30-50 percent of their flowers, but H.Bloom avoids this. The company then passes on big savings to customers. Bam bam.

Oh, and you can do flower subscription services too. The nice thing about a floral subscription service is that folks can just set it and then forget it, by selecting how frequent they want flowers delivered to their door (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly). And if you're like me and are constantly buying flowers, this is amazing. And the most amazing part? They don't charge you more for delivery on subscriptions!

Need chocolates to go with your flowers? H. Bloom has you covered there too. In Boston, they work with high-end chocolatier L.A. Burdick and cookies from Tatte.

So make sure you check out H. Bloom for your flower and gift delivery needs. You won't regret it.

scenes

I haven't taken my Big Girl camera out in a while, but I've been documenting lots of life through Instagram instead. Here's an abbreviated view at a few life scenes.

How have you all been? I feel it's been so long since I asked.

Happy Monday, friends.

recipe: garlic mayo

I've spent too much money buying mayo in my lifetime when it's so easy to make. So stop paying for your mayo and start making it at home!
IMG_6749
1 room temperature egg
2 T apple cider vinegar
1/4 t ground mustard
1 clove garlic
1/4 t salt
approx. 1 cup olive oil

Add all of your ingredients except for the olive oil into a food processor and blend for about 1 minute. Slowly add in your olive oil through the spout and blend until the olive oil is fully incorporated. Refrigerate and enjoy!

This stuff tastes way better than store-bought stuff. And once you have all of the ingredients handy, it's significantly cheaper to make it at home.

monday things

I apologize for the radio silence that's been happening over here. I'm trying to make sense of a lot of different things, and it's been pulling my mind in many different directions.

However, I'm trying to remind myself of the above quote when things are getting hard. I'm improving my tomorrows, each and every day.
